There is this odd exception where they erupt when you unretire an old fortress with a volcano or magma pool, but I'm not even sure if that is intentional behaviour. this, they will go back to their normal function checks of erupting and shifting Z level after you retire your fort. WebJan 5, 2024 · I'll include a screenshot here, but the idea is to build the bridge off of that empty spot over the volcano, between the two workshops. I'd put a stockpile on it for skeletons and corpses, and just dump them into the lava. Learned my lesson about this when a couple reanimated animal skeletons swept through the fort and killed everryone.
